We're converting this piece of internet real estate to a running account of our effort to move to Mexico. We're a little late getting started on it, so we'll have to go back and fill in the blanks of the last couple months effort at some later date. Suffice it to say that if coming from Mexico to the US is as complicated as going the other way, I can see why so many people decide to swim across the Rio Grande.
As of today, we're about halfway between New York City and the Mexican border - Meridian, Mississippi, to be exact. Having roared from New York to Knoxville in a single day, we were pretty confident we could make it to New Orleans last night. What we didn't count on was golfball-sized hail and two tornado systems converging about 10 miles in front of us. (As an out-of-towner, I have to say the appeal of living in this region of the country is somewhat lost on me.) So here we are - couple of white northern liberals arriving uninvited in the Greater Meridian area - what could possibly go wrong?
