Happy Oil Expropriation Day!

Because everything gets its own holiday here in Mexico, March 18 is Dia de la Expropriación Petrolea, commemorating the nationalization of Mexico's oil industry by president Lázaro Cárdenas in 1938. He was sort of the Hugo Chavez of his day, except that he didn't have Rudy Giuliani lobbying for him. We plan to celebrate by gassing up at the local Pemex. Don't ask us how much a gallon of gas costs because monopolies don't have to post prices. You just roll in, gas up, and hand over whatever amount they tell you to. On the other hand, they do wash your windshield for you.
