Well we're back from Oaxaca, where we discovered that we vastly prefer mezcal to tequila and, to a slightly lesser degree, Oaxaca to Queretaro. When we first talked about moving to Mexico, Oaxaca was at the top of the list, but eventually we ruled it out because of the convenience factor: there weren't enough flights in or out, and it was too long a drive to Mexico City. We're now thinking maybe we overestimated the hassle - though it's worth pointing out that the one-hour flight from Mexico City was about $300. (If anyone out there has lived in Oaxaca or has traveled back and forth between there and the US a lot, we'd love to hear from you.)

Anyway - and probably this is the mezcal talking - we're thinking of trying to rent a house there for a month later in the year. If anyone is interested in coming for all or part of that, we'll rent a bigger house. Let us know.

We would definitely be in but if you think the D.F. to Oaxaca is hard, try the Seoul-Oaxaca route. And we'd be afraid to admit to anyone in Mexico that we live in Korea...
