School Days

We live across the street from an elementary school, which is annoying for several reasons: 1) we hate children; 2) parents waiting to pick up their kids from school see nothing wrong with hanging out on our windowsills for an hour or more, often with their other, not-yet-school-aged children in tow; 3) roughly half the day's lessons are delivered by loudspeaker, including the daily 8:30AM recital of the national anthem. It's safe to say we look forward to summer vacation even more than the kids do.

So let the record show that today is July 6, and school is still in session. This is why Mexican kids are kicking our kids' asses in math, science and research.
