Who'll Be My Role Model Now That My Role Model Is Gone?

And the award for "Most Enthusiastic Tribute to the Late Manolete" goes to José Tomás.

A two-day bullfighting festival got underway on Tuesday in Linares, deep in the southern region of Andalusia, where Manolete was fatally gored in his right thigh at the age of 30 on August 28, 1947 on a baking afternoon before a stunned crowd.

Among the matadors scheduled to perform was Jose Tomas, who stepped out of retirement earlier this year, and who is a self-proclaimed admirer of the sober and serious style in the ring which helped make the late bullfighter a legend.

Stop me if you've figured out where this is going...

Spanish bullfighting enthusiasts were Thursday upset over the injury suffered by star torero Jose Tomas, who was gored during a bullfight paying tribute to bullfighting legend Manolete.

A bull gored Tomas in the right thigh, causing a serious injury, but Tomas managed to continue the bullfight and kill the animal with his sword.

It was a set-up job. Unfortunately for the bull, he was targeted as the fall guy long before he cut the deal. He should have watched some of those old movies.
