The Big Three

Once again, a Democrat wins and we're hit with runaway inflation - in this case, Al Gore's receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize has led to a staggering inflation of the reputation of the Emmy. To take just the top example this morning on google:

Al Gore's résumé includes just about every other distinction: an Emmy, an Oscar and now a Nobel Peace Prize. His impressive run has been unmatched by anyone in our culture.

That really is the Triple Crown of human achievement, isn't it? I'm surprised there wasn't more "Will Al run now?" talk after the Emmy win. Of course, we'll all be watching the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award in February to see if Gore will become the first to sweep all four Majors in a single year.

It might also work better if Gore actually had won an Oscar.

Picky, picky.

Incidentally, there were at least five Mexicans among the 2,000 scientists who have worked on the UN climate change panel. They're all claiming to have won the Nobel Peace Prize.
