Hasta la Victoria Siempre

Well it looks like the Medias Rojas just might make it to the World Series after all! (Yes, I know they won the pennant last night, but this is the Boston Red Sox we're talking about here; they can still blow this somehow.) Assuming they manage to hang on though, they'll be playing in Denver in front of none other than Tom Tancredo (R-USA! USA!), who, though running for president on a platform of 1950s nostalgia, will be rooting for a team that didn't join the league until 1993. And he'll have more on the line than just bragging rights over Boston (or Cleveland...let's not get cocky):

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who is also mounting a bid for president, says he'll decide whether to run again for Congress when and if his beloved Rockies win the World Series

Ever the political hack, Tancredo doesn't say how the results would affect his decision one way or the other, but our guess is that Tancredo wants to stay in Congress, and will be seen on tv every night cheering his lungs out for Jimenez, Morales, Corpas, Torrealba, Taveras, Lopez and Ramirez to bring him the victory celebration he can use in his campaign ads.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, Burro Hall extends a hearty buena suerte! to the Rockies, their #1 Fan, and all the baseball aficonados in the Spanish-named state of Colorado.
