Booty Call

One of the more inspiring spectacles from the flooding after Katrina was the way that, in spite of their obvious reluctance, desperate but resourceful white people were able to find food, water and other provisions, while their black neighbors were out looting the joint.

In case you were wondering, starving, flood-ravaged Mexicans (in Mexico, where they're not some hated minority) loot. They even loot in the Mexican press, where the Spanish word, saquear, means "to sack or to plunder," which frankly makes Villahermosa sound even more Lord of the Flies than New Orleans ever did.
