Gettin' Jiggly Wit It

Guest Scab: Anonymous Network Weasel

Boy, the quality of this site has really plummeted since the writer (or should I say "The Artist," as tv news producers are referred to in their contracts, which is really quite funny if you've ever seen tv news) went on strike, hasn't it? Don't worry folks, I've got just the thing for you: bubis!

First, the boring news: the World Economic Forum in Geneva has just released its 2007 Gender Gap Survey, which ranks [pdf] Mexico a lowly 93rd out of 128 countries in terms on gender equality. (The countries we beat out tend to be either Muslim, located in the middle of the Sahara Desert, or Korea.) This is actually an 18-place drop from 2006, which is surprising since it coincides with the arrival in Mexico of the overwhelmingly female-dominated Burro Hall household. Obviously, foreign nationals are not included in the survey.

But in much more important gender-related news, the National Cheerleading Championships begin today in Mexico City! Go Querétaro! Also, for you race fans in Mexico City, the Champ Car World Series is this weekend. El Universal, one of our most staid and respectable national newspapers, has a video of the "Hot Babes of Champ Car," plus an "exclusive" photo gallery of a different set of Hot Babes who are in some tangential way connected with the video Hot Babes.

Closer to home, in Querétaro, where 44% of pregnant women are victims of physical abuse, it's just not Christmas without a beauty pageant or two, so say Feliz Navidad to this year's Christmas Beauty Queen, Begoña González Goyeneche, henceforth refered to as "Begoña I", as if she were actual royalty. (Both these stories come from the online newssite Rotativo, whose "Chica of the Weeka" can be leered at here.)

See?...Writers! Who needs 'em?

Bonus For the Ladies: A little beefcake from Hugo Chávez, who was just been named one of Venezuela's hombres más sexy. IRI might be right about elections in that country being rigged.
