At The Movies

We watched a $2 bootleg copy of I Am Legend this weekend. As the final, frantic evacuation of Manhattan takes place, before the island is sealed off for quarantine, with the jostling, panicked crowds, the soldiers firing on their own citizens, and the bombers swooping in to knock down the Brooklyn Bridge, Laura turns to me and says, in all seriousness, "Aren't you glad we don't live in New York anymore?"

Also on the bill was The Simpsons Movie - the real, US English version, not the crappy Mexican bootleg. So far, the best difference between the two versions is the scene where Krusty is filming an ad for his new all-pork hamburger, the Klogger.

American Version: "If you can find a greasier sandwich, you're in Mexico!"

Mexican Version: "If you can find a greasier sandwich, I'll give you a prize!"

Someone's overly sensitive...
