From the Idiot File

If you hold down the "Option" key and type "E," then release the "Option" key and type whatever letter you want, you'll get that letter with an accent mark over it. To wit: é.

I seriously just figured this out.

A bit. Still, this is sort of life-changing. I've been cutting and pasting for a year now.

I mean, the fucking town's name has an accent in it.

That's why I refuse to live in a city with a name that has tricky punctuation....

What "option" key??

I think it's a Mac thing. Try hitting CONTROL and the apostrophe at the same time. Release them, and then the next letter you type should have an áccent.
