Green Day

For superstitious reasons, I'm usually not one to wager against the hometown, but I mean, when someone offers you Lakers-plus-38, you take it, right? Yeah, of course you do, so let's not hear any moralizing about "getting mixed up with loansharks" and all that crap, because it was going to be like stealing candy from a baby. Posting may be light over the next few days or years.

But first, we gotta give a shout out to the TVC Deportes announcers. If American cable providers aren't offering a "switch to Mexican commentary" option, they really should. These guys keep the excitement level in the "frenzied" range even during timeouts, and going to a commercial doesn't seem to be a reason to stop talking. And like Americans watching soccer, these guys know they need to over-explain the basics to the Mexican audience. Last night's example of this: "It's a popular song from an American group called Steam, from 1969, which is called 'Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye' - or, adios!"
