Friday Catblogging

The introduction of the spare cat into the Burro Hall ecosystem seems to have been a net positive. He and the lead cat spend several hours a day fighting like Clouseau and Kato, after which they crash like the end of an ecstasy binge and sleep in each others arms the rest of the day.

The perro, meanwhile, is just happy to be left alone.

The naming contest is still open, by the way. We're currently test-driving "Max," though we're still not entirely sure. We're opting to avoid anything too cutesy (sorry, "Ricky"); too long ("Mephistopheles"); or that would require us to still be explaining a joke 15 years from now ("Judas," "Kato," "elsudario.com"). One-syllable, male human names will receive special consideration.

"Dewey" was shot down only because it would have to be spelled "Dui" here, which just looks dumb. "The Commodore" had potential, if not for the fact that, as you know, everyone calls me "Admiral." "Meat Loaf" was spiked, but we'll point out that meatloaf in Spanish is pastel de carne which actually means "meat cake." We invite charles to re-submit his entry as "Meat Cake."

How about Othello?

Tlacaelel? Tizoc? Popocatatepetl? A Mexican cat deserves a Mexican name.

What about Leo?

Finally, someone read the instructions!

But no. A friend just had a baby named Leo. That'd be tacky.

How about Lucky? That about sums it up. Read some of your stuff, very funny and it's all you, good to know you haven't changed. Keep up the good work, "Admiral"??
