Look ! Up In the Sky!

Later this afternoon, John McCain will climb aboard a jet and fly over the capital city of an economically poor, militarily weak nation - though, unlike in the old days, he will not be dropping any bombs on the civilians. This time, nation will be Mexico and the jet will be the brand-new Flying Straight Talk Express - "El expreso del lenguaje directo," as they call it here. For the next 36 hours, he'll be doing whatever it is US presidential candidates do when they go abroad, including, at the candidate's request, a visit to the Shrine of the Virgen de Guadalupe. The he hightails it out of here to be back in the US in time to impugn Obama's patriotism on the 4th of July.

We'll keep you up to date on Sr. Lenguaje Directo's south-of-the-border flip-flops as they happen.
