And in reality is universal, this week is the free vaccines for pets, rabies, from march 21st to 27th, and you have cats and a dog, so wait for the visit or go to the vaccination centres in your colonia.

With IMSS, ISTE, and seguro popular, Mexico has a much better SOCIALIZED system than in the U.S. Not perfect, but even the poorest are taken care of. At the same time, private care is ample and available for those who wish to partake of it. But here is an interesting fact: most of the doctors who work at Angeles are also working at the Hospital General. So why bother wasting your money on a building that looks nicer? Same thing with Hospital La Fe in San Miguel. Although there, the doctors legitimately suck, and many patients end up having to get treatment at the new government hospital, which for Mexico, is not really all that bad.

Like it was mentioned before, the doctors that work on the private expensive hospitals also work on the public free or almost free hospitals, this is a law, all doctors are at the service of the government, at the begining of their careers full time but with time only half time.

I have some medic friends and all of them are working for either IMSS or ISSSTE. And they like it, they fight for a place in the public hospitals and clinics (public) because there they learn a lot, even alternatives to some treatments, since there is not enough of everything for all the pacients they have to come up with alternatives that help.

So far I have use the universal healthcare for vaccines only, but even just that save me a lot of money.
