Preposition Problems

The headline on this (subscription only) Wall St Journal article pretty much sums up American reporting on Mexico in a nutshell:

America buys all the drugs. America supplies most of the guns. The vast majority of the drug related killings happen within a few miles of the US border.  But now we learn that Mexico's violence is stretching to the US.  Gosh, somebody ought to do something before it gets there.

Yep. Time to legalize it on both sides of the border. That would stop the violence. And the U.S. gets pissed at the deaths in Juarez but never accepts its proper responsibility. At least Burro Hall has the balls to take the issue head on.

Burro Hall, congratulations!! First time I read an american accepts that the problem has more to do with drug consumption and the guns business in the US. If that can be controlled there, it would be more helpful than legalizing the drugs. Keep the good writing flowing.

I'll just point out that we're coming up on the one-year anniversary of this.

You may now gaze up at me in awestruck reverence.
