11.S '011: Positively No Tricycles Allowed

We didn't catch too much of the local 11.S coverage yesterday, but we did have a good chuckle over Plaza de Armas's full-page piece about the 9/11 Memorial opening at Ground Zero ("Zona Cero") - not for anything it says (it's a pretty standard piece of press-release transcription), but rather for what it chooses to highlight. Fascinating as the ten-year saga of the rebuilding is, the editors deemed the fact that "alcohol, pets (except for service animals), glass containers, sharp objects, recreational vehicles such as bicycles, tricycles or roller skates, and smoking" are all prohibited as being so newsworthy, it deserved to be broken out into its own sidebar within the main illustration.

We assume there's a reason for this, so we're passing it on to our readers as well.

I'm guessing the editors found it fascinating that 1)there are rules against that sort of thing in el Norte, and 2)the implication that people may actually observe them.
