Great Moments in Mexican Law Enforcement

As if to prove this blog's maxim that no situation is ever improved by the arrival of Mexican police, here's a couple of Querétaro's cartoonishly over-armed municipal officers driving through the Cimitario neighborhood a couple of nights ago, when they spotted a suspiciously robable vehicle. (In a not-atypical side note: the driver of the car was still inside, having passed out drunk. Welcome to Querétaro. We continue.) Having ascertained that the driver was deeply asleep, Querétaro's finest proceed to relieve the vehicle of anything of value. Because they are highly-trained law enforcement officers, they failed to notice the security camera or the fact that the unit number (M-939) painted on their patrol truck would be visible to it. Both officers are now in custody until they can be quietly released when the heat blows over.
